CROMA is one step ahead of times and needs. A different machine concept: more accessible, easy to manage and extremely modular. For truly continuous coating process.

Perfect adaptability for truly continuous production.

CROMA continuous coater is IMA Active’s novel technology for a fast and truly continuous process. Designed to be modular to manage a range of tablets throughput and a range of coating weight gain. A single CROMA module works in ranges of 20-100 kg/h and average 2-4% weight gain, depending on tablets and film types.
CROMA versatility allows to manage with one equipment size product development, clinical trials and manufacturing, with no need of scale-up.

Sustainability

The Continuous Manufacturing projects aim at improving process efficiency and minimizing energy consumption.

Although the development of Continuous Manufacturing process and technology is a challenge, it will have significant advantages including costs and risks reduction at any  stage, either during the engineering phase or in daily production with the opportunity of higher flexibility.

CROMA Highlights

1.
CROMA is designed to work in a truly continuous mode. Product is flowing continuously throughout the modules, with no steps. The breakthrough of CROMA lies into the product movement.
2.
Modularity is the hallmark of the project. CROMA can be connected either in series for higher weight gain or in parallel for higher throughput.
3.
CROMA is designed to maximise accessibility. The perforated drum of each module is fully accessible once the side panels are removed, thus allowing easy inspection and cleaning.
4.
CROMA is fitted with highly innovative technologies for process monitoring and control to deliver coated tablets with specific consistent properties.
Process control can be enhanced with full integration of PAT tools and use of mathematical models for measurement or prediction of Critical Process Parameters (CPP) that determine Critical Quality Attributes (CQA).
